Website update
Greetings and Welcome to Ferndale Family Home’s brand new website!
My name is James O’Brien, and I am the webmaster for FerndaleFamilyHomes.com. I am happy to announce that we have just launched a new website for Ferndale Family Homes. For the most part, the only changes that will be apparent from our visitor’s perspective is that the pages look slightly different. But, behind the scenes, we have made major changes to FerndaleFamilyHomes.com
One of the biggest changes is that we have moved away from using static HTML pages to using dynamic PHP pages. I won’t bore you with the technical details, but by switching to PHP, our website will be much easier to maintain, develop, and administer. We will also have new abilities that weren’t feasible in our old website. For one thing, we give our staff the ability to write and publish articles, without having to worry about layout consistency, or messing anything up. The consistency is built into this layout I made for the website.
Another great feature about our new website is that we now have the ability to update and manage content on the fly. And we are going to start incorporating photo galleries into our website. This is something that we’ve wanted to do for a long time, but it was complicated to do with the old website.
